Hilton puts department store mogul in charge of Pennsylvania hotel

The one-year-old DoubleTree by Hilton hotel downtown is free to operate under the locally based management of department store mogul Al Boscov and his Reading Hospitality Management LLC, according to an editorial in the Reading Eagle

The hotel had about 75,000 guests, and management says that could double next year. "Not bad considering how many people doubted that an upscale hotel at Seventh and Penn streets could draw much of a crowd. And that's not to mention the thousands more people who visited the hotel to attend events there," according to the paper's editorial team.
