Jersey Shore boutique wins 'best new hotel in America' award

Since opening on Memorial Day 2016, The Asbury Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ, has made waves with its breathtaking design, unique programming, and sold out occupancy.

The property was Just ranked #1 on USA Today’s 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards list for Best New Hotel in America.A panel of hotel experts and editors chose 20 new hotels across the country and the nominees were voted upon by readers online.

“We are thrilled to be named the best new hotel in America,” said David Bowd of Salt Hotels – part owner and operator of The Asbury. “The success just inspires us to continue to develop programming that will excite and draw visitors all year long.”

Due to high demand, iStar, the real-estate investment company behind The Asbury, just announced plans to extend the hotel’s pool area to include more cabanas and seating. Guests can enjoy their favorite dining options via the poolside food truck, which will now include an expanded menu. The Asbury is the first hospitality project in iStar’s multi-billion-dollar redevelopment plan to transform the seasonal beachfront.

“The success of The Asbury from its launch into the winter season further validated our confidence in Asbury Park’s potential to be a year-round destination,” said Brian Cheripka, Senior Vice President of Land and Development for iStar. “We look forward to the many exciting updates 2017 will bring, both for the hotel and our upcoming projects in The City.”
