Topgolf to open third Arizona unit in Tucson

Topgolf broke ground on its third Arizona location. Topgolf will be located off of I-10 and Orange Grove, and construction on the 53,000-square-foot venue begins this month, with an expected opening in late 2017.

"The Topgolf name is well known in the state of Arizona and is recognized as a place where everyone can have fun, regardless of your age or if you golf or not. When the Town of Marana learned that Topgolf was interested in our community, we pulled out all of the stops to ensure they would have a seamless path to opening their venue," said Curt Woody, Town of Marana director of economic development and tourism. "The buzz around the region is already at a level of enthusiastic anticipation. The addition of Topgolf to the Town of Marana will create a significant positive impact and will allow us to provide another entertainment destination for the entire metropolitan area."

The new three-level venue will feature 1,500 square feet of private event space and 72 climate-controlled hitting bays that can host up to six players at one time.

Through the premium experience of play, food and music, Topgolf is inspiring people of all ages and skill levels – even non-golfers – to come together for playful competition. Guests can enjoy point-scoring golf games using microchipped balls that score themselves, showing players the accuracy and distance of their shots instantly on a TV screen in their hitting bay. The venue also features an outstanding chef-driven menu, top-shelf drinks, big screen TVs and music in climate-controlled hitting bays for year-round comfort. Year-round programming includes events for kids and families, social leagues, golf tournaments, golf instruction and more.

"Anchored by the University of Arizona, Tucson is a young, vibrant community with continuing job growth," said Topgolf Director of Real Estate Development Devin Charhon. "The success of our current Arizona locations in Scottsdale and Gilbert have paved the way for Topgolf to expand to Tucson. We couldn't be more excited to continue our growth in the state."

Topgolf estimates it will serve approximately 300,000 visitors in its first year of operation. Nearly half of all Topgolf guests describe themselves as "non-golfers."
